Osteocyte is the most abundant cell type in bones and the cell responsible for mechanosensing via calcium signalling. However, most researches on breast to bone metastasis have focused on the interaction between circulating breast cancer cells and osteoclasts. Study on the role of osteocyte in cancer progression is relatively scarce. My research aims to investigate into interactions between osteocytes and breast cancer cells by measuring the change in osteocytes’ calcium response induced by breast cancer cells under physiological relevant conditions in-vitro.
