Project

Summer 2019: Osteocytes are a main cell in the bone matrix and play an integral role in bone remodeling. They communicate with the osteoclasts and osteoblasts through secretion of substances through their dendrites to  influence the remodeling of surrounding bone. I will be fabricating devices and learning new techniques to assist Henry test how mechanical loading onto bone affects the relationship between osteocytes and the surrounding cells for bone resorption and deposition.
